Delete your account and data

You can delete your MDcipher account and the health records in it at any time. There is no support ticket required and no waiting period.

If you can sign in

Delete your account from inside the app:

1. Open MDcipher and sign in.
2. Tap or click your avatar in the top-right corner.
3. Choose Account.
4. Select Delete Account and type your email address to confirm.

Deletion takes effect immediately.

If you cannot sign in

If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your email, or cannot reach your account for any other reason, email support@mdcipher.app from the address associated with your account, or tell us the address you used. We will verify your identity before deleting anything, and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming your request.

What is deleted

• Your account and sign-in association.
• Every profile on the account, including any family members or dependents you added.
• All health records — diagnoses, medications, procedures, test results, health logs, allergies, immunizations, and notes.
• All uploaded documents and the text extracted from them.
• Chat history with the assistant.
• Any connection to a patient portal, including stored access credentials.

This is permanent. Deleted records cannot be recovered by you or by us.

What is retained, and why

Two things outlive account deletion, and we would rather say so plainly than let you discover it:

• Access-log entries. MDcipher records when health information is viewed or changed. These entries are kept as a security and compliance safeguard — HIPAA requires that this trail survives the deletion of the records it describes. They no longer identify you by name; the link to your deleted profile is severed.
• Billing records. If you ever held a paid subscription, our payment processor retains transaction records as required by financial and tax law. We never see or store your full card number.

Deleting one profile instead

If you only want to remove one person's records — a dependent's profile, for example — you can delete that profile on its own from Profile → Personal Info in the app, leaving the rest of the account intact. The account holder's own profile cannot be deleted separately; removing it means deleting the whole account.
